Love Calls from the Mountaintops

by Sharon Chen

/

about

To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, I wrote this short piece. Part of my upcoming album, proceeds go towards medical costs for my brain surgery.

但愿人长久,千里共婵娟!
Although a thousand miles apart, we wish for a long life to share the graceful moonlight.

I composed the piano part first presumably as an intro for another work and then decided to add some choir and then solo violin. Piano is a hybrid instrument.

~
The light on the hill
always meant something to me...
You were there waiting
no matter what hardships might be...

Arms outstretched
I would reach out to you...
I could always count on
your love to be true...

This was the vision
that kept me going...
Though in the blackest hours
I was never quite knowing...

Through the darkest of nights
How the light would still shine...
Hope unwavering
In Love divine...
